What is the authenticity of the following narration:

Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Certainly the example of the ‘Ulama in the world is like the example of the stars through which guidance is obtained in the darkness of the land and sea. When the stars disappear, it is very likely that the rightly guided can be misled from the right path.”

Is satellite communication a sign of Qiyamah?

Question

A lecturer quoted a narration that suggests Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) mentioned ‘satellite dishes that communicate’ as a sign of Qiyamah. He says the Hadith refers to people watching television and not maintaining family ties.

I don’t know Arabic or the Hadith but he says the Hadith is reported by Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

Do you know this Hadith? Is it authentic and is the translation he provided correct?

Question

I have come across a Scholar who quotes a Hadith wherein Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said that Nabi Sulayman (‘alayhis salam) asked Allah for three favours. The third favour was that anyone who leaves his home with the sole intention of performing Salah in Masjidul Aqsa then all his sins will be forgiven. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then said, “We hope that Allah accepted this du’a of his.”

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Should I not inform you of the best of your deeds which are the purest in the sight of your Rabb, the highest in ranks, which is better for you than spending gold and silver in charity and which is better for you than meeting the enemy, you striking their necks and they striking your necks?” They said, ‘Certainly’. ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu anha) smearing pudding on the face of Sawdah (radiyallahu ‘anha)

Is this narration authentic?

Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) says:

Sawdah (radiyallahu ‘anha) visited us one day. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) between them placing a leg in the lap of each one of us. I prepared type of pudding and said to her ‘Eat’. She refused so I took some of the food and smeared it on her face. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) laughed and raised his leg which was in her lap so that she could get back at me. He said to her,  ‘You smear her face now’. So she took some of the pudding from the plate and smeared my face with it and Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) laughed and then ordered them to wash their faces.

خذوا العطاء ما دام عطاء، فإذا صار رشوة في الدين فلا تأخذوه، ولستم بتاركيه، يمنعكم الفقر والحاجة، ألا إن رحى الإسلام دائرة، فدوروا مع الكتاب حيث دار، ألا إن الكتاب والسلطان سيفترقان، فلا تفارقوا الكتاب، ألا إنه سيكون عليكم أمراء يقضون لأنفسهم ما لا يقضون لكم، إن عصيتموهم قتلوكم، وإن أطعتموهم أضلوكم قالوا: يا رسول الله، كيف نصنع؟ قال: كما صنع أصحاب عيسى ابن مريم، نشروا بالمناشير، وحملوا على الخشب، موت في طاعة الله خير من حياة في معصية الله

A virtue of reciting Surah ikhlas one hundred times with wudu

Question

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The person who reads Surah Ikhlas 100 times with wudu, beginning with Surah Fatihah, will receive the following virtues:

1. Allah Ta’ala will record ten good deeds for every letter
2. Erase ten sins
3. Elevate ten stages
4. Build one hundred palaces in Jannah
5. On that particular day Allah Ta’ala will grant him the reward of all of mankind
6. It will be as he has recited the Quran thirty three times
7. Serve as freedom from shirk
8. It will cause the Angels to be present
9. It is a cause for Shaytan to retreat
10. This reading will make a buzzing sound around the ‘Arsh, mentioning the reader by name, until Allah Ta’ala looks at the reader with mercy. Thus when Allah Ta’ala looks towards him/her he will never punish him.”
