Clarification on the miraculous achievements of the ‘Ulama

Question

I find the book Fadail A’mal informative in its explaining themes through Quranic Ayah and Ahadith. However, I find some of the other material very strange. For example, in Fazail of salah, it says that Ibn Abidin (rahmihullah) prayed a thousand nafl rak’ah every day. How is this humanly possible in a 24 hour day (if each rak’ah took one and a half minutes on average, then he would be praying 25 hours a day of nafl salah!)? As unbelievable as this is, is such an act not against the shari’ah (which teaches moderation)? Where do these and other such statements come from? By no means do I wish to attack this work. Reference for Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) making du’a for the ummah in every Salah

Question

I wanted to know the authenticity/reference of the following narration. The summary is:

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) made Dua for Aishah (radiyallahu’anha) due to which she became very happy. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said i make this dua for my Ummah every day.

I have heard that if a person sleeps according to the sunnah i.e, makes wudu, recites Tasbih Fatimah du’a etc, then he will get reward for doing ‘ibadah for the entire time he remains sleeping, is this correct?

Hadith: The jews were divided into seventy one groups

Question

A Shaykh said that the hadith relating to that jews were divided into seventy one groups and the Christians into seventy two and the muslims into seventy three all in Jahannam except one

He states that this hadith is questionable;
1. its sanad (chain of narrators) is questionable
and
2. its matn (text) is questionable for the Quran says “You are the best of Ummahs”

Question

Could you clarify the authenticity of the following narrations on the virtues of Ayatul Kursi?

1) Recite Ayatul Kursi at the time of leaving home, because 70 000 angels will protect a person from the right, left, front and back; and if he passes away before returning, he will receive the reward of seventy martyrs.

2) Recite Ayatul Kursi forty times at the time of sunset daily, because its reciter will receive the reward of forty Hajj.

3) Recite Ayatul Kursi every night before sleeping, as an angel is appointed to guard the person till the morning.

4) Recite Ayatul Kursi after every ablution (wudu), as every word will elevate his status forty times.

5) Recite Ayatul Kursi every time one returns home, for it repels poverty.

Hadith: I am leaving behind two things

Question

Could you please inform what is the academic status of these two hadiths:

1. I am leaving behind two things: the Book of Allah and the Sunnat

2. I am leaving behind two things :the book of Allah and the Ahlu Bait

Outwardly there seems to be a contradiction, please enlighten.

Status of the hadith on the hearts becoming hard

Question

I heard a hadith in which the Prophet (sallallahu’alaihi wasallam) mentions that the inability to weep is caused by the hardness of the heart which is caused by the multiplicity of sin which is caused by the love of this world which is caused by ambition which is caused by the forgetfulness of death. Can you please give me the exact wording?

Fadail A'mal mentions Kashf, is this shirk?

In the book: Fada’il al-A’mal, first edition 1994 of the English translation. On the end of page 21 of Virtues of Salah, you will find the words ascribing kasha of “seeing sins falling down from the limbs of the person performing wudu…” to Imam Abu Hanifah (rahimahullah). Kashf means, in Khandhlawi’s own words, “divine manifestation of unseen things”(pg.128 of Virtues of Dhikr).

Muslims know that seeing the unseen (ghayb) is only possible to Allah, and the claim and lie that people are able to do such things is clear shirk. And on top of that it is a lie on Imam Abu Hanifah (rahimahullah).

Question

I heard that it is sunnah to pass the hands over the face after du’a. A salafi scholar says that it is bida’h (an innovation) to do so. What is the proof that it is sunnah to pass the hands over the face after du’a. Please list the Ahadith which support your answer.
