اللهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَارْضَ عَنْهُ رِضًا لَا سَخَطَ بَعْدَهُ

Whoever makes the above du’a after Adhan, Allah Ta’ala will accept his du’a.

What is the source of this Hadith, and is it sahih?

Narrated Abu Bakr (radiyallahu ‘anhu) ‘I asked Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) to teach me an invocation so that I may invoke Allah with it in my Salah. He told me to say, ‘Allahumma inni dhalamtu nafsi dhulman kathira wala yaghfiruz dhunuba illa anta faghfirli maghfiratam min ‘indika war hamni innaka Antal Ghafurur Rahim.’

I wanted to know the exact reference for the following narration and is it suitable to quote. Furthermore, is the translation correct?

“A man approached Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) and declared, I am unable to pay my kitabah (money paid by a slave to his master to secure his freedom), so kindly assist me.

Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said, ‘Should I not teach you some words which Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) taught me? If your debt were to be equivalent to Mount Sir/Sabir, Allah will remit it.’

Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said, ‘Recite

اَللّٰہُمَّ اكْفِنِىْ بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَ اَغْنِنِىْ بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

 

O Allah! Make Your halal provision sufficient for me [so that I stay away] from haram. And by Your grace, make me independent of everyone besides You”
