Time Travel

Question

My Beloved Shaykh, I read in one of your answers, that the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) made du’a and the sun was returned to a previous position so Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) could pray ‘Asr. Could you please cite the complete Hadith? Does this Hadith mean time travel is some kind of way possible? I am referring to this answer: http://www.hadithanswers.com/hadith-really-bukhari/ JazakAllahu khayran.

Is this a fabrication in Fadail-A'mal?

Question

A brother sent me and others an email criticizing Fada’il al-A’mal with the following:

In Fada’il al-A’mal you will find that some hadiths have been taken from the book called Dhayl al-‘Ali of Imam Suyuti, which means “Tails Of Pearls”, but in the meantime the real name of the book is Dhayl -La’ali al-Masnu’a fil-Hadithil-Maudu’a which means “Tails of made up pearls in fabricated hadiths”.

There is a hadith on page 142 of Virtues of Dhikr, hadith no.28 which in English tells us about Adam (‘alaihis salam) and how he asked forgiveness from Allah when he saw the Prophet (sallallahu’alaihi wasallam) name on the ’Arsh. Now, if you read the same hadith on the same page in Arabic you will find the word MAWDU’ which we know means fabricated. The same is not translated into English or Urdu for that matter. That is a clear lie on the Prophet (sallallahu’alaihi wasallam)

Is this Hadith really in Bukhari?

Question

Someone came to me and informed me of a sirah bayan he heard. In the bayan, the khatib mentioned a Hadith in which Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was resting on the thigh of Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu), and the time of Asr arrived. Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) didn’t get up to pray Asr for fear of waking Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). He used this to claim that hub un-Nabi (love for nabi sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) is greater than Salah. He mentioned that this Hadith is mentioned in Sahih Bukhari.

‘Shaytan is the Mentor for those who have no real Mentor’, correct?

Question

Please advise if the following statement is found in the hadith or is it the statement of some pious person. We would appreciate it if you could suggest any book where we could get more details. That statement is;

“Man la shaykha-lahu fa shaykhu-hu ash Shaytan”

‘Shaytan is the guide of the one who has no spiritual guide.’

Clarification on the miraculous achievements of the ‘Ulama

Question

I find the book Fadail A’mal informative in its explaining themes through Quranic Ayah and Ahadith. However, I find some of the other material very strange. For example, in Fazail of salah, it says that Ibn Abidin (rahmihullah) prayed a thousand nafl rak’ah every day. How is this humanly possible in a 24 hour day (if each rak’ah took one and a half minutes on average, then he would be praying 25 hours a day of nafl salah!)? As unbelievable as this is, is such an act not against the shari’ah (which teaches moderation)? Where do these and other such statements come from? By no means do I wish to attack this work. I merely seek clarification and verification of the authenticity of such statements. Jazakallah

Etiquettes of entering and leaving the home

Question

What should we say for protection when leaving the house? What are the adabs of leaving and entering one’s home? What is the du’a to stop Shaytan or Jinn from entering our house?

Is there a sahih Hadith that says that Allah will appoint 70,000 angels to protect a person, if they say; “Bismillahi tawakkaltu ‘alallah”, when leaving the house?

Hot Food Has No Barakah

Question

Can you please give me the exact reference to the following Hadith. I have been searching for it for some time and was pleased that it was sent to me.

Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) says: “To allow the food to get cold before partaking of it, for hot food has no barakah.”

Elsewhere we learn hot food weakens the stomach.
