Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘You will be keen and eager for a position of leadership, [however] this will be a cause of regret for you on the Day of Qiyamah’

 

Answer

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 7148)

 

Hafiz ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) explains, that this will be a cause of regret for those who act unjustly [in a position of leadership] as clearly mentioned in other Hadiths.
