Is the following Hadith reliable?

أربع من اعطيهن فقد أعطي خير الدنيا والآخرة : قلب شاكر ، ولسان ذاكر ، وبدن على البلاء صابر ، وزوجة لا تبغيه خونا في نفسه ولا ماله

 

Answer

 

Translation

Whomsoever is granted the following four qualities, has been given the best of this world as well as the Hereafter:

1) A grateful heart

2) A tongue that constantly remembers Allah

3) A body that is patient when calamities strike

4) A spouse that does not fall into sin with regards to herself and her Husband’s wealth

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) and others have recorded this narration.

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 11275 and Al Mu’jamul Awsat, Hadith: 7208)

 

‘Allamah Mundhiri has declared the chain of narrators as good (jayyid) and ‘Allamah Haythami has declared the chain of narrators in Al Mu’jamul Awsat as authentic

(Targhib, vol. 2 pg. 398 and Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 4 pg. 273)

 

The Hadith in question is further supported by the following narration:

Sayyiduna Thawban (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The best [wealth] is a tongue that remembers Allah, a heart that is grateful and a believing wife who assists him in his Iman”

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3094. Declared sound –hasan– by Imam Tirmidhi)
