Question
I read two Hadiths regarding the last person to enter Jannah or lowest ranking person to enter Jannah. One Hadith says that person will get “what equals the world and ten times as much.”
In the other Hadith, Nabi Musa (‘alayhis salam) asked Allah Ta’ala who will be the last person to enter Jannah, Allah Ta’ala said that person will get as much kingdom like that of a King of the world.
My question is why does one Hadith say that person will get as much as ten times the world but other Hadith says he will receive the like of a kingdom of a king?
Does Nabi Musa’s (‘alayhis salam) Hadith seems to say he will get less than the size of the world?
Why there are differences between both Hadiths for the last person to enter Jannah?
Answer
There is no difference between these two Hadiths. Both of them promise the lowest Jannati ten times the size of the world.
Kindly read below and pay attention to the parts in brackets too.
The Hadith of Nabi Musa (‘alayhis salam), that appears in Sahih Muslim states:
‘…[Allah Ta’ala will ask this person:] Will you be pleased if you have the like of the kingdom of one of the kings of the world? (that king’s kingdom would have been one fifth the size of the world).
He will reply: I am happy O my Rabb.
Allah Ta’ala will reply: You can have five times the size of that king’s kingdom. (this added up, will equal the size of the entire world).
He will say; I am happy O my Rabb.
Allah Ta’ala will say: You will receive that [five times that kingdom] tenfold. (which then means that he will have ten times the size of the world).
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 464)
