Nabi’s (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) exemplary conduct

Question

What is the reference for this Hadith?

Abu Abdillah Al Jadali reports, I asked Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) about the character of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) said, “The Prophet was not indecent, he was not obscene, he would not shout in the markets, and he would not respond to an evil deed with an evil deed, but rather he would pardon and overlook.”

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith and has declared it authentic (hasanun sahih).

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2016)

Certain parts of this narration are recorded in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim as well.

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3759/6029, Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2321. Also see here)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
