Question

Is the following a hadith: Place both the fingers in your ears whilst giving azaan

Answer

There are several hadiths like this, in which Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is reported to have instructed Sayyiduna Bilal (radiyallahu ‘anhu) to put his fingertips into his ears while calling the adhan.

This instruction is reported by the following Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum):

1. Sayyiduna Bilal (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

2. Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

3. Sayyiduna Sa’d Al-Quraz (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

Many other Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum) have reported this as the practice of Sayyiduna Bilal (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

i.e., that he would place his fingertips in his ears while calling the adhan.
