Hasan Al Basri (rahimahullah) said:

“O son of Adam! Sell this life for the next and you win both of them. Sell the next life for this and you lose both of them.”

 

Answer

Imam Abu Nu’aym (rahimahullah) has recorded these words of Hasan Al Basri (rahimahullah) as part of several advices.

Arabic text

يا ابن آدم بع دنياك بآخرتك تربحهما جميعا ولا تبيعن آخرتك بدنياك فتخسرهما جميعا

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
