    The severity of missing Salah

    Question I wanted to know the authenticity and references of the following Hadith: The Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) has said: “The pledge between us and them is prayer, whosoever leaves it has rejected faith.” Could you kindly provide commentary of few esteemed and noble scholars of the past on the part of “whosoever leaves it has rejected faith”.

    The Importance of Salah in Congregation

    Question There is a Hadith in which the Prophet (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) got angry on those who didn’t come to pray in the masjid. From this Hadith some scholars say it is obligatory to pray in congregation. Even Imam Bukhari said obligatory. Imam Muslim said it is fard kifayah. What is the answer to this?

    Question Is this narration authentic? Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) has said, “We have been commanded to perform Salah and to pay Zakah, so Salah will not be accepted from a person who does not pay Zakah.” [i.e. He will not receive the complete reward for Salah]

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “If a person hears the Adhan and does not go to the Masjid without a valid excuse, his Salah [performed alone] is not accepted. When the Sahabah asked as to what a valid excuse could be, he replied, ‘Illness or fear.'”
