What is the reference for this Hadith and can it be quoted?
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Fragrance for men is that which the scent is apparent and colour is hidden [like musk etc] and fragrance for women [when she intends to leave the home] is that which its colour is visible and its scent is hidden [like saffron]”
Imam Tirmidhi, Imam Abu Dawud, Imam Ahmad and other Muhaddithun have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith sound (hasan).
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2787, Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 2167, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 2 pg. 540)
