Question

I would like to ask who was the Hadith narrator, Ibrahim ibn Sa’d ibn Ibrahim (rahimahullah)?

Answer

Imam Ibrahim ibn Sa’d was the great grandson of Sayyiduna ‘Abdur Rahman ibn ‘Awf (radiyallahu ‘anhu). He was born during the year 108 A.H.

Many senior Muhaddithun have declared him reliable and the famous Hadith authors [of the sihah sittah], have all accepted his narrations.

He reported Hadith from his father, Sa’d ibn Ibrahim, Shu’bah ibn Al Hajjaj, Salih ibn Kaysan, Ibn Shihab Az Zuhri (rahimahumullah) and many others.

His two sons; Ya’qub and Sa’d, Shu’bah ibn Al Hajjaj, Layth ibn Sa’d, ‘Abdullah ibn Wahb, ‘Abdur Rahman ibn Mahdi (rahimahumullah) and many others took Hadith from him.

He passed away in the year 183 A.H.
