Ibn Sa’d (rahimahullah) has reported this incident from Muhammad Ibn ‘Umar Al Waqidi (rahimahullah), the famous Historian.

Imam Ibn ‘Abdil Barr (rahimahullah) states that the Historians are unanimous on the fact that Sayyiduna Mus’ab ibn Umayr (radiyallahu ‘anhu) was the flag bearer of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) in the Battle of Badr as well as the Battle of Uhud.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
