Is this Hadith authentic?

“The headache that afflicts the Believer, or a thorn that pricks him, or anything that harms him, Allah will raise him a degree on the day of Qiyamah and expiate his sins due to it”

Answer

Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abid Dunya and Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al Khudri (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Al Marad Wal Kaffarat, Hadith: 172 and Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 9409)

‘Allamah Mundhiri (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators of Imam Ibn Abid Dunya reliable (ruwatuhu thiqat).
