Question

Is this du’a mentioned in any Hadith and is there any virtue for reciting it?

Allahumma Antas Salam wa minkas Salam wa ilayka yarji’us salam fahayyina Rabbana bis salam wa adkhilna daraka daras salam tabarakta Rabbana wa ta’alayta Ya Dhal Jalali wal Ikram

Answer

Mulla ‘Ali Al Qari (rahimahullah) has quoted ‘Allamah Jazari (rahimahullah) who has stated that these extra words have no basis from Hadith.

(Al Masnu’, Hadith: 472, Mirqatul Mafatih, Hadith: 960 and Tuhfatul Ahwadhi, Hadith: 298)

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded the du’a [to be recited after Fard Salah] with the following words:

Allahumma antas salam wa minkas salam tabarakta Ya dhal Jalali wal ikram.

See here.

Nevertheless, the du’a in question has a good meaning, and can be recited without considering it part of the Sunnah du’a.

Translation:

O Allah, You are Peace, peace comes from You. Peace returns to you. Grant us peace and grant us entry into [Jannah]. Blessed and most High are You O Possessor of Glory and Honour

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
