Question

When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was in the Cave of Thawr, it is famously said that a snake bit the toe of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

Is it true that this snake was from the era of  Nabi ‘Isa (‘alayhis salam) and requested to see Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)?

Answer

I haven’t seen this in any Hadith book.

However, it does appear in the book: “Malfuzat” of my spiritual Mentor, Mufti Mahmudul Hasan Gangohi (rahimahullah)

(Malfuzat Faqihul Ummah, vol. 1, pg. 40)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
