Question

Please provide the reference and authenticity of this du’a,

Answer

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir (radiyallahu ‘anhu) who says, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would make the following du’a:

Allahumma inni a’udu bika min yawmis sui wa min laylatis su’i wa min sa’atis sui wa min sahibis sui wa min jaris sui fi daril muqamah

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 810, vol. 17)

Hafiz Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators reliable.

(Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 7 pg. 220 and vol. 10 pg. 144)

Translation

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
