Question
What is the source, authenticity and meaning of the following du’a?
Answer
I have not come across this du’a in any primary Hadith source. I have seen this du’a attributed to Hasan al Basri (rahimahullah) in the writings of some contemporaries.
The meaning of the du’a is good and can be recited without deeming it a Sunnah du’a.
Translation: O Allah, O Guardian of my blessings and my refuge in times of distress, make that which I fear and am weary about a source of coolness and peace for me, just as You made the fire coolness and peace for Ibrahim (‘alayhis salam).
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
