“Whosoever harasses a Jurist has caused trouble and pain to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and the one who causes trouble and pain to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) has caused trouble to Allah”

Answer

Imam Ibn Shahin (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration as the statement of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) with a weak chain.

(At Targhib Fi Fadailil A’mal, Hadith: 283)

(٢٨٣) – حدثنا علي بن الفضل بن طاهر البلخي، ثنا عبد الصمد بن الفضل، أن حفص بن عمر العدني، حدثهم عن الحكم بن أبان، عن عكرمة، عن ابن عباس، قال: «من آذى فقيها فقد آذى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ومن آذى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقد آذى الله عز وجل».
