Question

Can you mention the full narration and comment on the authenticity?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“A man from the Ahlul-Kitab will marry a poor young woman, and neither desire divorce until they die of old age”

The reference given is Al Mu’jamul Kabir of Imam Tabarani.

Answer

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Miqdam ibn Ma’di Karib (radiyallahu ‘anhu). ‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators reliable, but was of the view that the chain is not continuous. However, according to other Muhaddithun like Imam Ibn Hibban (rahimahullah) the chain will be continuous.

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 648, volume: 20, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 4 pg. 302 and Kitabuth Thiqat, vol. 5 pg. 520 and 526)

The Hadith is suitable to quote.

The full Hadith is as follows:

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) once stood up, praised Allah and said:

“Allah Ta’ala advises you to be good to women, Allah Ta’ala advises you to be good to women for they are your mothers, daughters and aunts. A man from the Ahlul Kitab would marry a [poor] woman [who did not even own something as meagre as a thread/cotton] yet they do not separate/become undesirous of each other [until death do them apart].

(Refer: Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 1947)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
