Question

What is the level of authenticity of this Hadith?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“If a homosexual takes a bath in the oceans of the world, on the day of Qiyamah he will still be impure”

 

Answer

Imam Daylami (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration. However, ‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) and other Muhaddithun have declared this Hadith a fabrication.

(٨٨٧) – حديث: «لو اغتسل اللوطي بماء البحر لم يجيء يوم القيامة إلا جنبا»، أسنده الديلمي عن أنس به مرفوعا، وهو عنده أيضا من حديث أبي هريرة رفعه بلفظ: المتلوط لو اغتسل بكل قطرة تنزل من السماء على وجه الأرض إلى أن تقوم الساعة لما طهره الله من نجاسته أو يتوب، وكل ما في معناه باطل.

تنزيه الشريعة: (٢/ ٢٢٠)
حديث: «لو اغتسل اللوطي بماء البحر لم يجيء يوم القيامة إلا جنبا» (خط) من حديث أنس وقال رجاله ثقات غير محمد بن العباس بن سهيل وهو الذي وضعه.
