Is there any chain for this narration?

«إن لله ملكاً له جناحان أحدهما بالمشرق والآخر بالمغرب فإذا صلى العبد علي حبا انغمس في الماء ثم ينتفض فيخلق الله من كل قطرة منه ملكاً يستغفر لذلك المصلي علي إلى يوم القيامة»

Answer

‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) has stated that he has not come across a chain of narrators for this narration.

The narration can therefore not be verified and should not be quoted.

Translation

Allah Ta’ala has an angel that has two wings; one wing in the east and the other in the west. When a person sends salutations [durud] upon me out of love, that angel submerges itself underwater. The angel then shakes the water off. Allah Ta’ala creates an angel from each drop that will seek forgiveness on his behalf until he Day of Qiyamah.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.

ويروى: «إن لله ملكا له جناحان، أحدهما بالمشرق، والآخر بالمغرب، فإذا صلّى العبد عليّ حبّا… انغمس في الماء، ثم ينتفض، فيخلق الله من كل قطرة تقطر منه ملكا يستغفر لذلك المصلي إلى يوم القيامة»، قال الحافظ السخاوي: لم أقف على سنده، وفي صحته نظر.
