Question

I heard the following virtue in a lecture:

“A person who has relations with his wife gets the reward of killing a disbeliever.”

Is this authentic?

 

Answer

I have not come across these exact words.

A similar narration appears in some non-primary sources. The wording of this version is as follows:

“When a man engages in intimacy with his spouse, he will receive the reward of [raising a son, who then] fights in the path of Allah and is martyred.”

However, ‘Allamah Subki and ‘Allamah ‘Iraqi (rahimahumallah) have stated that they have not come across any basis for this narration.

This narration should not be quoted.

(١٥٢٨) – حديث «إن الرجل ليجامع أهله فيكتب له من جماعه أجر ولد ذكر يقاتل في سبيل الله».
لم أجد له أصلا.
