Why is the white turban best?

Question

In the Hadith books, most of the narrations mention that our beloved Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wassalam) had a black turban on his head.

Shaykhul Hadith Moulana Zakariyya (rahimahullah) mentions that wearing a white turban is the sunnah.

Without objecting on Shaykh (rahimahullah), as a student of Din I want more clarification on this.

How did Shaykh (rahimahullah) come to this opinion?

It seems to me (from the narrations I have come across) that wearing a black turban is closer to the sunnah. Can you please explain further? Read More »

Marriage in Shawwal

Question

I have read the Hadith answer regarding getting married in Shawwal but there is another Hadith where Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) mentions that three things should not be delayed. One of them being marriage.

My question is regarding a person who gets proposed in Rabi ‘ul Awwal. One Hadith is telling us not to delay. On the other hand, we have the virtue of getting married in Shawwal. How do we reconcile? Read More »

The state of relationships on the Day of Qiyamah

Question

Allah says in the Quran:

فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَلَا أَنسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَاءلُونَ

‘So when the Horn is blown, no relationship will there be among them that Day, nor will they ask about one another.’ (Surah Al Muminun, Verse:101).

Does the following narration hold any weight and does it not vigorously clash with the verse of the Quran above? How can the verse of the Quran and this narration be reconciled?

At the time of his marriage to Sayyiduna Ali’s (radiyallahu ‘anhu) daughter Sayyidatuna Umm Kulthoom (radiyallahu ‘anha), Sayyiduna Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said:

إلا تهنئوني سمعت رسول الله صلى الله علي وسلم يقول: ينقطع يوم القيامة كل سبب ونسب إلا سببي ونسبي

‘Do you not congratulate me! I heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) say ‘On the Day of Qiyamah all sabab (relations through marriage) and nasab (relations by blood) will break except my sabab and nasab.’ Read More »
