Question

What is the reference for this Hadith?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said to the person who asked him for advice “Do not become angry”

Answer

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that a man once said to Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), “Advise me.” Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Do not become angry.” He repeated this question over and over and Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) replied each time, “Do not become angry.”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 6116)
