Question
Kindly provide a reference for the following and please verify the translation:
“A person will be blessed with perfect light on the Day of Qiyamah when he spends his youth in the path of Allah.”
Answer
I could not locate such a Hadith.
It is possible that the text in your question is a mistranslation of the following Hadith:
Sayyiduna ‘Amr ibn ‘Abasah (radiyallahu’anhu) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:
‘Whoever grows even a single strand of white hair in the path of Allah, will find it a source of light for him on the day of Qiyamah.’
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1635)
Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) declared this Hadith as authentic (hasan sahih gharib). Also see Sahih Ibn Hibban, Hadith: 2984 (Al-Ihsan).
The words that appear in this Hadith are: من شاب شيبة.
Since it is very similar to the arabic word that refers to youth (الشاب) it is possible someone mistook the Hadith to refer to youth.
A Hadith on the virtue of pious youth
The famous Hadith in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim has cited the youth who grows up in the worship of Allah Ta’ala’ as among those who will be granted the shade of Allah’s throne on the day of Qiyamah.
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 660 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2377)
