Is this Hadith reliable?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Hasten to perform Hajj -meaning the obligatory Hajj- for none of you knows what will happen to him”

Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) with a weak chain.

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 1 pg. 314)

However the Hadith is sufficiently corroborated and is suitable to quote.

Imam Hakim and Imam Tabarani have recorded a supporting narration.

(Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1 pg. 448, Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 737-738, vol. 18. Also see: Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 2883, Zawaid Ibn Majah, Hadith: 963, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 1 pg. 214 and Targhib, vol. 2 pg. 168)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
