Question

Is the following a Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)?:

من أصلح ما بينه وبين الله أصلح الله ما بينه و بين خلقه

“Whoever rectifies his relationship with Allah, Allah will rectify his relationship with the people.”

 

Answer

Imam Daylami (rahimahullah) has cited this as a Hadith of Rasulullah (salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

(Al-Firdaws, Hadith: 6228)

Imam Ibn Abi Shaybah and others have recorded this as part of the advices of the pious predecessors.

(Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 36135 & 36621)

I would prefer to quote this as the statement of the pious, as there were several narrators in the chain of Daylami whom I could not locate. Therefore I cannot authenticate it or quote it as a Hadith.
