Question

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said there is something I fear for my Ummah more than Dajjal. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) repeated this thrice. When questioned as to what this was, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) replied, “Misguided and astray leaders.”

Is this Hadith authentic and is it suitable to quote?

Answer

Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

The Hadith in question is well corroborated and suitable to quote.

حدثنا يحيى بن إسحاق، أخبرنا ابن لهيعة، عن عبد الله بن هبيرة، أخبرني أبو تميم الجيشاني، قال: أخبرني أبو ذر، قال: كنت أمشي مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: «لغير الدجال أخوفني على أمتي» قالها ثلاثا. قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، ما هذا الذي غير الدجال أخوفك على أمتك؟ قال: «أئمة مضلين».

رواه أحمد، وفيه ابن لهيعة، وحديثه حسن، وفيه ضعف، وبقية رجاله ثقات.
