We hear many a times from scholars/teachers that if a student misses a day of lesson then he is deprived from 40 days of blessings. Is there any basis to that in Hadith (or anywhere)

I haven’t seen this in any Hadith, but our predecessors were extremely particular about being steadfast and punctual in their search for knowledge.

There are several incidents of them going to the classroom even on weekends (when there was no lesson for the day) just so that they maintained their continuity.

Imam Abul Hasan Al-Karkhi (rahimahullah) – a famous Hanafi scholar- would ensure he went to the class of his teacher; Imam Abu Khazim (rahimahullah) even on Friday mornings, although there was no lesson on that day.

He says: ‘I did this so my habit of attending doesn’t stop’

(See for this & other such incidents: Ma’alim Irshadiyyah of Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah,- may Allah protect him-, pg.253)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
