Is the following narration suitable to quote?
أن أبا الدرداء ، ذهب مع سلمان الفارسي يخطب عليه امرأة من بني ليث ، فدخل ، فذكر فضل سلمان وسابقته وإسلامه ، وذكر أنه يخطب إليهم فتاتهم فلانة ، فقالوا : أما سلمان فلا نزوجه ، ولكنا نزوجك ، فتزوجها ثم خرج ، فقال : إنه كان شيء ، وإني استحيي أن أذكر ذلك ، قال : وما ذلك ؟ فأخبره أبو الدرداء بالخبر ، فقال سلمان : أنا أحق أن أستحيي منك أن أخطبها ، وكان الله قد قضاها لك

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this incident.
Thabit Al Bunani (rahimahullah) reports that Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) accompanied Sayyiduna Salman Al Farisi (radiyallahu ‘anhu) when Sayyiduna Salman (radiyallahu ‘anhu) went to propose to a woman from Banu Layth.
Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) spoke to her family about Sayyiduna Salman’s virtues, his early acceptance of Islam, and then informed them that Sayyiduna Salman (radiyallahu ‘anhu) wished to marry a certain woman from their family.
They replied, “We will not marry her to Sayyiduna Salman (radiyallahu ‘anhu), but we will marry her to you.”
Sayyiduna Abu Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) married her. He then came out and said to Sayyiduna Salman (radiyallahu ‘anhu), “Something has happened, and I feel embarrassed to tell you about it.”
“What is it?” Sayyiduna Salman (radiyallahu ‘anhu) asked.
Sayyiduna Abu Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) told him what had happened. Sayyiduna Salman (radiyallahu ‘anhu) replied, “I have more reason to feel embarrassed than you. I asked to marry her when Allah Ta’ala had already decreed that she would be your wife.”

The chain contains an omission before the Sahabi.

However, the incident is suitable to quote as an example of the clean hearts of the Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum), how they accepted the decree of Allah, and how sincere they were with one another.
And Allah Ta’ala knows best.

(7516) – وعن ثابت البناني أن أبا الدرداء ذهب مع سلمان الفارسي يخطب [عليه] امرأة من بني ليث فدخل فذكر فضل سلمان وسابقته وإسلامه وذكر أنه يخطب إليهم فتاتهم فلانة فقالوا: أما سلمان فلا نزوجه، ولكنا نزوجك. فتزوجها، ثم خرج. فقال: إنه قد كان شيء، وإني أستحي أن أذكر ذلك. قال: وما ذاك؟ فأخبره أبو الدرداء بالخبر فقال سلمان: أنا أحق أن أستحي منك أن أخطبها، وكان الله قد قضاها لك.
رواه الطبراني، ورجاله ثقات إلا أن ثابتا لم يسمع من سلمان، ولا من أبي الدرداء.
