What is the status of the following Hadith?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Hold firm to Ya Dhal Jalali Wal Ikram” [O Possessor of Majesty and Honour]

 

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3524-3525)

Imams Ahmad and Hakim (rahimahumallah) have recorded the Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Rabi’ah ibn ‘Amir (radiyallahu ‘anhu). Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has also recorded the Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

Imam Hakim has declared the Hadith authentic and ‘Allamah Dhahabi concurs.

Arabic text of the du’a

يا ذا الجلال والإكرام

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
