Question
Is this narration correct?
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Whoever earned money from forbidden sources, then freed from it, and joined ties, that will still be insistence on sins.”
Answer
Sayyiduna Abut Tufayl (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Whomsoever earns haram wealth, then sets a slave free from that wealth or joins family ties with that wealth, he will be sinful for those [deeds].”
(Al Mu’jamul Kabir; Refer; Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 10, pg. 291/292)
‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared one of the narrators weak. However, the Hadith is well corroborated and is suitable to quote.
