Question

What is the authenticity of this Hadith?

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“He in whose heart there is no part of the Quran, is like a deserted house.”

 

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith. He has declared the Hadith authentic (hasanun sahih).

(٢٩١٣) – حدثنا أحمد بن منيع قال: حدثنا جرير، عن قابوس بن أبي ظبيان، عن أبيه، عن ابن عباس، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «إن الذي ليس في جوفه شيء من القرآن كالبيت الخرب» هذا حديث حسن صحيح.
