What is the source of this Hadith?

يرسل البكاء على أهل النار، فيبكون حتى ينقطع الدموع، ثم يبكون الدم حتى يصير في وجوههم كهيئة الأخدود، لو أرسلت فيها السفن لجرت

Answer

Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “The people of Jahannam will be made to cry. They will cry until they run out of tears. They will then cry blood until something like trenches form on their faces, if ships were set to sail therein they would sail.”

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 4324)
