Please confirm the source and authenticity of this narration

“Whoever recites Takbir (Allahu Akbar) 100 times during the morning and 100 times in the evening, no one will surpass him [in virtue] on that day except a person who says as he has said or says more than what he has said.”

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this as part of a longer Hadith. He has declared the Hadith sound (hasan).

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (radiyallahu ’anhuma) reported That Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “…Whoever recites Allahu Akbar one hundred times in the morning and evening, none shall exceed him [in reward] on that day except a person who says as he has said or says more than what he has said.”

(٣٤٧١) – حدثنا محمد بن وزير الواسطي، قال: حدثنا أبو سفيان الحميري، عن الضحاك بن حمرة، عن عمرو بن شعيب، عن أبيه، عن جده، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «من سبح الله مائة بالغداة ومائة بالعشي كان كمن حج مائة حجة، ومن حمد الله مائة بالغداة ومائة بالعشي كان كمن حمل على مائة فرس في سبيل الله، أو قال غزا مائة غزوة، ومن هلل الله مائة بالغداة ومائة بالعشي كان كمن أعتق مائة رقبة من ولد إسماعيل، ومن كبر الله مائة بالغداة ومائة بالعشي لم يأت في ذلك اليوم أحد بأكثر مما أتى إلا من قال مثل ما قال أو زاد على ما قال».
هذا حديث حسن غريب.
