Question
What is the authenticity of this?
The story of the stone-man whose hand was kissed by Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam).
It is narrated that, after Tabuk, after the war with the Romans, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) and the group paused at the side of the road leading to Madina. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) appeared to a stone mason.
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam), who was very concerned about his people, seemed to pay attention to the craftsman’s hand. The brick-man’s hand was blistering, his skin red-black with blackness due to the heat of the sun.
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) asked the mason, “Why with your hands?”
The masonry immediately responded to the question, “O Messenger of Allah, I work splitting stones every day. The stones are then sold to the market, the money I use to provide my family’s livelihood. That’s why my hands are rough and blistering like this. ”
In a moment, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) took the brick-man’s hand and kissed him.
Then He said, “This is the hand that will never touch the fire of Jahannam forever.”
