Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“There are three types of people who attend the Jumu’ah Salah; The first is present, but engages in frivolous actions [like talking and fidgeting] so that is all he will get. The second type is that person who [is silent during the khutbah and does not fidget] but engages in du’a [during the khutbah]. Allah may accept or refuse his request as He wishes. The third is present, silent and attentively listens to the khutbah, he did not step over the shoulders of people nor did he harm or annoy anyone, this type of attendance is an atonement for his sins till the next Jumu’ah and a further three days, the reason being that Allah Ta’ala says, ‘He who does a good deed will have ten times as much.’
