What is the difference between:

1) صلى الله عليه وسلم
2) عليه الصلوة والسلام

Which is better?

 

Answer

There isn’t much of a difference between the two.

The first one explicitly asks for Allah Ta’ala to send salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) whilst the second one implies the same.

Generally to be clear and explicit is better, although there is no harm in reciting either of the two.
