I am interested in attaining the Arabic text and English translation of a hadith which mentions a du’a of the Prophet (sallallahu’alaihi wasallam). It begins with “O Turner of hearts” and mentions keeping the heart firm in obedience. I would also like to know which hadith collections this du’a can be found in.
Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alaihi wasallam) used to recite the following supplication in abundance:
‘Ya Muqallibal qulub, thabbit qalbi ‘ala deenik.’
(Sunan Tirmidhi, hadith: 2140)
Translation: O Turner of hearts, keep my heart steadfast on your deen.
Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has classified this hadith as hasan (sound).
And Allah Ta’ala Knows Best
