Is this reliable?

إِنَّ أَحَبَّ عِبَادِ اللهِ إِلَى اللهِ الشَّكُورُ الصَّابِرُ الَّذِي إِذَا ابْتُلِيَ صَبَرَ وَإِذَا أُعْطِيَ شَكَرَ

Answer

Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration as the statement of the reliable Tabi’i,  Mutarrif ibn ‘Abdillah ibn Shikkhir (rahimahullah) with a reliable chain.

(Az Zuhd, Hadith: 1334)

Translation

The most beloved servants in the sight of Allah are those who are very grateful and patient. When they are tested, they adopt patience and when they are bestowed [with a bounty], they are grateful

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.

(١٣٣٤) – حدثنا عبد الله، حدثنا أبي، حدثنا روح، عن سعيد، عن قتادة قال: كان مطرف بن عبد الله بن الشخير يقول: «إن أحب عباد الله إلى الله الشكور الصابر الذي إذا ابتلي صبر وإذا أعطي شكر».
