Translation of a du'a on death and the Hereafter

Question

Kindly translate the following du’a and provide a reference:

Allahuma inna na’uzu bika minal mawti wa kurbatih wal qabri wa ghummatih was sirati wa zallatih wa yawmil qiyamati wa raw’atih

Answer

I have not been able to locate these words as a hadith. However one may read any du’a even if it is not found in hadith, as long as one does does not believe that du’a to be a Sunnah.

The translation of the du’a in question is as follows:

O Allah! I seek your protection from the agony of death, from the distress of the grave, from slipping on the bridge of Sirat, and from the terrors of the day of judgement.
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
