Imams Ahmad, Abu Ya’la and Abu Nu’aym (rahimahumullah) have recorded this as the statement of Wahb ibn Munabbih (rahimahullah). ‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators of Abu Ya’la reliable.

(Az Zuhd of Imam Ahmad, Hadith: 2193, Musnad Abu Ya’la, Hadith: 6114, Hilyatul Awliya, vol. 4 pg. 58. Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 10 pg. 226)

Translation

Remember three [advices] from me; Beware of the following, following desires, an evil companion and being self conceited.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
