What is the status of this Hadith?

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked a Sahabi: “Are you married?’ He said: “No, by Allah, O Messenger of Allah! And I do not have anything to marry with.” Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Do you not know: Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad [Surah Al ‘Ikhlaş]?” He said: “Of course.” He said: ‘It is a third of the Qur’an…”

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith and has declared it sound (hasan).

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked a Sahabi: “Are you married?’ He said: “No, by Allah, O Messenger of Allah, and I do not possess anything by which I could marry.” Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Do you not know Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad [Surah Ikhlas]?” He replied: “Yes.” Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “It is a third of the Quran.” He then asked: “Do you not know Idha Ja-a Nasrullahi Wal Fath [Surah Nasr]?” He said: “Yes.” He said: “It is quarter of the Quran.” Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked: “Do you not know Qul Ya Ayyuhal Kafirun [Surah Kafirun]?” He replied: “Yes.” Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “It is a quarter of the Quran.” Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked: “Do you not know Idha Zulzilatil Ard [Surah Zalzalah]?” He replied: “Yes.” Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “It is a quarter of the Quran.” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then said: “Then Marry, marry.”

(٢٨٩٥) – حدثنا عقبة بن مكرم العمي البصري قال: حدثني ابن أبي فديك قال: أخبرنا سلمة بن وردان، عن أنس بن مالك، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال لرجل من أصحابه: «هل تزوجت يا فلان»؟ قال: لا والله يا رسول الله، ولا عندي ما أتزوج به، قال: «أليس معك قل هو الله أحد؟» قال: بلى، قال: «ثلث القرآن»، قال: «أليس معك إذا جاء نصر الله والفتح؟» قال: بلى، قال: «ربع القرآن» قال: «أليس معك قل يا أيها الكافرون؟» قال: بلى، قال: «ربع القرآن» قال: «أليس معك إذا زلزلت الأرض؟» قال: بلى، قال: «ربع القرآن» قال: «تزوج تزوج»: هذا حديث حسن.
