Question

Can you provide the reference for this Hadith?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

Among the worst of people in status on the Day of Qiyamah in the sight of Allah is that man who goes to his wife and she goes to him [to engage in intimate relations] then he divulges her secrets [i.e., a description of his spouse and the details of what transpires].

Answer

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al Khudri (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(١٤٣٧) – حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة، حدثنا مروان بن معاوية، عن عمر بن حمزة العمري، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن سعد، قال: سمعت أبا سعيد الخدري، يقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «إن من أشر الناس عند الله منزلة يوم القيامة، الرجل يفضي إلى امرأته، وتفضي إليه، ثم ينشر سرها».
