Question

Is this Hadith authentic?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) stated:

“Whoever feeds a person who is breaking their fast, he gets the same reward as him without any subtraction from the reward of the fasting person.”

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi and Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Zayd ibn Khalid Al Juhani (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 807 and Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1746)

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith authentic (hasanun sahih).
