Question

My final question on the regarding the du’a asking Allah for ease; I have seen a poster wherein the following words are referenced to Sahih Ibn Hibban:

Is this correct?

Answer

I have referred to two editions of Sahih Ibn Hibban. Both editions have the words as follows:

(Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 974, Risalah edition and Hadith: 969, Darut Ta-sil edition)

According to the annotations on the Darut Ta-sil edition, one manuscript of Al Ihsan (Sahih Ibn Hibban) has the wording as appears in your question (i.e., أَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزَنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلًا).

You may recite either version of the du’a, especially since the words in your question are recorded in other primary sources. See here and here

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
