Is this narration authentic?

ما صلت امرأة من صلاة أحب إلى الله من أشد مكان في بيتها ظلمة

Answer

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration as the statement of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said: “A woman’s Salah prayed in the darkest part of her home is more beloved to Allah than her prayer in other parts of the house.”

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir; Refer: Targhib, vol. 1, pg. 227, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 2, pg. 35, Hadith: 2143)

‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has stated that the narrators have been declared credible.

A similar narration has also been reported as a Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). See it here
