Imam Abu Nu’aym (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration as the statement of Bishr ibnul Harith Al Hafi (rahimahullah) the famous ascetic [Demise: 227 A.H.].

Bishr Al Hafi (rahimahullah) said: “Do not seek knowledge to demean/insult people. This is the greatest disease.”
